Prentis-iaith
Your apprenticeship provider may include a course called Prentis-iaith as part of the apprentice’s framework.
Prentis-iaith is a bespoke language course for apprentices and is available on 4 levels:
- Awareness
- Understanding
- Confidence
- Fluency
Your apprentice will complete the course that is best suited to their level. An apprentice looking to improve their skills will probably complete the Confidence level.
Prentis-iaith is freely available on the Coleg Cymraeg Porth website so if the Apprentice does not complete the course with their provider, you could include it as part of your induction. You could also use the course with other employees or complete it yourself.
Prentis-iaith and WorkWelsh
Prentis-iaith and WorkWelsh courses are available to all Welsh businesses so they are a good first port of call for Welsh language training at all levels. For further Welsh language training you could also access the free Work Welsh scheme offered by the National Centre for learning Welsh.
