What is a bilingual apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship combines practical training in a job with study. You can recruit an apprentice to an existing or new role.

An apprenticeship qualification is made up of a Framework. This is the mixture of qualifications and skills which will make up the apprentice’s training.

All frameworks in Wales follow a similar pattern and are made up of:

Other qualifications dependant on framework
Competency qualification
Technical qualification relevant to skill / trade / occupation
Wales Essential Skills qualifications
In a bilingual apprenticeship, the apprentice can complete all or any part of their framework bilingually or through the medium of Welsh.

There are frameworks available across an enormous range of occupational areas and roles that you can choose from.
